How To DOMINATE Google

Your company should have one HUGE focus when it comes to your web-presence, and that my friends, is showing up in local searches on Google.

You need families in your area to find you on Google (Before they find another business first) remember, if you're not first...YOU'RE LAST.

Showing up in local searches should be a top priority if you have a location-based business that relies on bringing in nearby customers.

Allow me to bring some value here, read the rest of this article to truly dominate search engines and start gaining more website traffic (Which is the whole point of SEO)

As a business, you need to appear when people search for your services. If you don't, there is a big chance that people will never discover your awesome gym. In fact, they will end up discovering someone else's gym instead, because they ranked higher on Google than yours.

Search Engine Optimization, and Google My Business. These two could ultimately change how you get leads forever.

"Google My Business is a free and easy-to-use tool for businesses and organizations to manage their online presence across Google, including Search and Maps. To help customers find your business, and to tell them your story, you can verify your business and edit your business information."

If you haven't already, go into your Google My Business profile and optimize your account. To rank higher on Google, you need to have someone perform advanced SEO on your website to ensure Google recognizes your club as a valid result for the keywords searched that are relevant to your services.

There are two types of ways you can be listed at the top of Google, through paid advertisement through Google Adwords, and and organic SEO.

Google determines the best results for the user by these categories:

  1. Relevance (Relative to the search keywords)

  2. Distance (Location)

  3. Prominence (the state of being important or famous)

Here are some key major game changers to acquiring great Search Engine results.

Create a Google My Business page. Your free Business Profile on Google lets you engage with customers directly and manage how your business appears on Google Search and Maps. It can be the very first thing consumers see when searching for your product or service. After you create your GMB page, you need to fill in the necessary information.

Google my business checklist:

  • Add complete information to your Google My Business listing

  • Verify your locations

  • Keep your hours accurate and up-to-date

  • Manage and respond to reviews

  • Add high-quality photos

Add Complete information to your google my business listing:

  1. Who You Are

  2. Name

  3. Website

  4. Business Description

  5. Category

  6. Attributes

  7. Opening Date

  8. Photos

  9. Where You Are

  10. Address

  11. Service Area

STEP 5 - Submit for verification.

Keep your hours up-to-date: Make sure that you include special holiday hours, to avoid frustrating customers who make their way to your business only to find out you are closed.

Manage and respond to reviews: Businesses that want to improve their local SEO ranking should collect and manage online reviews. I always leave a reply after every single review someone leaves us.

Add high-quality photos:

According to google listings with photos receive 42% more requests for driving directions and 35% more clicks to their website. There are several types of photos you can upload, but at the very minimum you should include:

1. Profile photo

2. Logo

3. Cover photo

Before uploading any photo, make sure the size is optimized for the platform. Regularly sharing high-quality photos will show off your business’ personality and help you engage with your audience.

You also need to create business profiles on:

  1. Facebook

  2. Yelp

  3. Angie’s List
